Aerith and Bob: Some of the Trolls have real world names, like Poppy and Cooper.Justified in that the title species from the toyline are actual living beings in the movie. Adaptation Title Change: The movie's title is a shortening of "Troll Dolls".John Cleese plays a king with a British accent who has an American-accented child in a DreamWorks movie for the second time.Gristle, played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse, has a similar, if not identical, face to Fishlegs.Anna Kendrick had played Cinderella in the film version of Into the Woods - which also starred James Corden and Christine Baranski. Bridget leaves her rollerskate behind on the palace steps in a Shout-Out to Cinderella. ![]() Right off the bat, the acapella singing over the DreamWorks logo nods to Anna Kendrick's best known role.Given that Chef is only guarding the front of Gristle's tongue, Branch could've escaped by running to the sides this is proven when Poppy pulls a Diving Save to rescue Branch. 1-Dimensional Thinking: In the climax, Chef tries to force-feed Branch to Gristle, but Branch doesn't attempt to avoid her or fight back, in contrast to his usual Crazy-Prepared attitude. ![]()
